Preliminary study in the analysis of the severity of cardiac pathologies using the higher-order spectra on the heart-beats signals

Abstract Phonocardiography is a technique for recording and interpreting the mechanical activity of heart. The recordings generated by such are called phonocardiograms (PCG). PCG signals acoustic waves revealing wealth clinical information about cardiac health. They enable doctors to better understand heart sounds when presented visually. Hence, multiple approaches have been proposed analyze based on recordings. Due complexity high nonlinear nature these signals, computer-aided higher-order statistics (HOS) employed, it known be an important tool since takes into account non-linearity signals. This method also as bispectrum technique, can provide significant enhance diagnosis accurate objective interpretation condition. expected this paper test in preliminary way parameters which make possible establish discrimination between various different pathologies characterize abnormalities. study will done reduced sample (nine signals) before applying subsequently larger sample. work examines effectiveness using analysis pathological severity approach showed that HOS has good potential
